Aisha Mohamed's interest in global health began at the age of ten when her family moved from the US to Nairobi, Kenya, where she witnessed disparities in access to medical care. Now a third-year pathology resident at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Dr Mohamed was awarded an ASCP Trainee Global Health Fellowship for a month-long rotation in Moshi, Tanzania.
In Tanzania, Dr Mohamed collaborated with Alex Mremi at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre on a prostate cancer screening research project. She also contributed to pathology training, reviewed clinical cases, and joined virtual tumor boards through ASCP’s telepathology program.
