Fast-growing science, technology and medicine (STM) publisher Texere Publishing has announced the forthcoming launch of their fifth magazine – The Translational Scientist. Launching in January 2016, the new publication will cater to scientists working to translate scientific discoveries into medical advances. The magazine will be free to readers and is expected to reach over 50,000 researchers in academia and industry. Find out more about the audience – download the media kit. From decoding the human genome to stem cell research, we live in a time of unprecedented advances in the life sciences. And yet, much of the knowledge acquired has not made the leap into new or improved therapeutics. The burgeoning field of translational science deals with the gap between our ever-increasing knowledge and real gains for human health. Read more about our editorial vision – click here. Topics will provide a broad cross-section of translational science, covering the latest research in areas such as oncology, neurology and cardiovascular medicine, new research tools and personal stories from leaders in the field. A dedicated section – Toolbox – will focus on new technologies and techniques that are helping biomedical researchers accelerate their work. Click here to download a sample issue. Editor of the new magazine, Charlotte Barker, believes the time is right for a dedicated publication. “Momentum has been building over the past decade, with a renewed focus on translational research, including major funding programs both in the US and Europe.” Rich Whitworth, Texere Content Director, agrees: “Translational science is a red-hot area that fits beautifully within our existing portfolio and very much lends itself to the fresh and exciting approach that Texere brings to the world of publishing.”

The magazine joins Texere’s portfolio of magazines for scientists and clinicians, including The Analytical Scientist, The Pathologist and The Medicine Maker, which have made waves in the STM publishing world. Publisher of the magazine and company Vice President Chris Breslin says, “Readers want information that they can apply in real time, that is meaningful, interesting and makes a difference in their own work. This is the vision Texere has and no other Publisher can capture, despite spending millions of dollars in the attempt!” To find out more about the new publication, contact the Publisher: chris.breslin@texerepublishing.com, +1 443824 4341.

About the Author(s)

Roisin McGuigan

I have an extensive academic background in the life sciences, having studied forensic biology and human medical genetics in my time at Strathclyde and Glasgow Universities. My research, data presentation and bioinformatics skills plus my ‘wet lab’ experience have been a superb grounding for my role as an Associate Editor at Texere Publishing. The job allows me to utilize my hard-learned academic skills and experience in my current position within an exciting and contemporary publishing company.
